Nokia 7.1 is official: HDR screen and a set of good cameras

Today HMD global launched their latest Nokia smartphone the Nokia 7.1, the smartphone is part of the Android One program meaning the Nokia 7.1 will receive three years of monthly security patches and two years of operating system updates as set by the Android One program.

The Nokia 7.1 is the perfect combination of style and substance. The Full HD+ 5.84’’ PureDisplay screen with a 19:9 ratio goes edge-to-edge for a bigger experience without the bigger handset. Glass front and back, shaped at the edges for comfort, and with a 6000 series aluminum frame; Nokia 7.1 stands out with its diamond-cut colored chamfers.

Nokia 7.1 is the first smartphone with PureDisplay technology for HDR cinema-quality entertainment. With YouTube now able to support HDR content, not to mention the most famous shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime, you can take your viewing experience to another level with higher contrast and clarity, revealing details in both clear and in the dark, with beautiful vibrant colors. With support for HDR10, the PureDisplay technology from Nokia 7.1 offers a higher contrast (dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1) and greater clarity.



Nokia 7.1 features a dual-camera setup on the back, with 12 and 5MP sensors with 1.28μm pixels and an f/1.8 aperture. It also has dual phase detection autofocus, a live bokeh mode, and a pro camera mode. The front camera comes in at 8MP, and also “bothie” mode to take photos with the front and rear cameras at the same time.

The Nokia 7.1 is powered by the the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC that has two Kryo 260 dual quad-core processors with clock speeds of 1.8 GHz and 1.6 GHz. The processor is able to handle heavy tasks, image processing, gaming and so much more with ease using the Adreno 509 GPU. The phones is packed with 3GB or 4GB RAM that plays an important role in multitasking and ram management. It can efficiently handle the most demanding applications without compromising on the speed.
The phone comes loaded with 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded to 400GB via a microSD card. When it comes to software the Nokia 7.1 runs the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. Nokia 7.1 is ready to upgrade to Android 9, which includes AI capabilities that will make your phone smarter and faster, to adapt to your use.
The Nokia 7.1 is also an Android Enterprise Recommended phone, joining the four other Nokia devices already on that list.
