Rockstar games has announced a connected online experience for Red Dead Redemption 2 called Red Dead Online.
According to Rockstar:
“Red Dead Online is an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption, blending narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways.”
The multiplayer aspect of Red Dead Redemption 2, won’t be available during the launch of the game. Instead, it will initially release as a beta in November, accessible to everyone who purchased Red Dead Redemption 2. This is something that has also happened to Grand Theft Auto V.
Speaking with IGN, the developer said that they have taken what they have learned from GTA Online and made sure to create the best experience possible with Red Dead Online. Players will have a more intimate experience with Red Dead Online, mainly because they won’t have cars, planes and other fast-moving modes of transportation like you did in Grand Theft Auto. Because of this, you’ll really be able to take in the world and make it your own.
Red Dead Online is planned for launch in November 2018, initially as a public beta, with more news to come soon. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018.
