Unlike Samsung who have absolutely no chills with Apple, Xiaomi chose a finer way of making fun of Huawei for lack of Google services. On the box of the European version of the flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro there seems to be an inscription for Huawei, and not for the buyer to read. It reads something like, “with easy access to the Google apps you use most.”
A recent report showed Xiaomi has overtaken Huawei to become World’s #3 smartphone brands. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is running MIUI 11 based on Android 10, which is nice to see, considering the Mi Note 10 is still running Android 9. One thing that stands out to me is how much Xiaomi is leaning on Google even for its stock apps. The Mi 10 Pro uses Android Messages as its stock texting app, Google Phone as its main phone app and a huge folder full of Google apps will gaze at you on the home screen.
Strategy Analytics reveals Xiaomi narrowly passed Huawei in February 2020. Samsung was first in January with 18.2 million sales and Apple followed closely with 10.2 million units. Then we see Xiaomi with 6.0 million and then Huawei with 5.5 million units.
